The title truly says it all. I leave tomorrow at 3:35pm and so begins my study abroad adventure! The past few weeks that I've been home in NJ have involved traveling to numerous stores (more times than I would have liked) in search of specific items, the constant writing and rewriting of lists and what seemed like endless packing and organizing. However, it appears that as of an hour ago, I am as packed as I'll ever be..though I'm almost positive one of my suitcases is over the weight limit and I hope the but-I'm-a-full-year-study-abroad-student excuse will work. As it stands, I just might be bringing more things than necessary but I really did try my best to eliminate excess clothing and random things.
Obviously, I am extremely excited to finally be leaving since I've been planning this for ages but truth be told, I'm becoming more nervous by the minute. I can't wait to start exploring Copenhagen and to get to know my host family, but I also have little desire to start classes again especially when it's without all of my friends and in a rather unfamiliar place. It might as well be freshman year all over again except this time everything is in Danish and drinking is legal. Also, the fact that I will be away from my home, my family, and my friends (except the few who visit or are abroad in the spring) for nine months is rather daunting. Luckily, at this point there's no option for turning back and I'm just going to have to dive in head first and hope all goes well...
Next time you hear from me I should be in Copenhagen! Wish me luck!
