End of semester = time for more travels

Well it's clear that my blogging has once again has gotten massively behind. As it turns out, final papers, exams and goodbyes will do that.

Today was the DIS closing ceremony. While it's refreshing to know that I still have another entire semester here, it's bittersweet to realize that the majority of the friends I've made are headed back home to return to their own universities, scattered across the US.

Finals were tough and caused me a lot of anxiety over the past month. For those on the verge of leaving CPH, I'm surprised so many people found the time to do all the last minute things they had forgotten about and still manage to cram in study time.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to forsake blogging about the rest of my fall traveling because I'm so behind and about to embark on 4 more weeks of travel which I so excited for. Here's a snapshot of each of the cities I visited but didn’t write about:
Italy (Rome & Florence): amazing food including pasta, pizza and gelato (twice a day) but lots of touristy gimmicks that can end up being really annoying. It’s so cool to be able to stand in ancient ruins or renaissance churches and really take in the history that's pasted through them.
Stockholm: much darker and colder then CPH but definitely Scandinavia. We saw the sunken Vasa and the old part of the city. Also we stayed in an amazing apartment via a friend of a friend
Helsinki: here they speak a crazy language. We went to an island that was once a defense for the city and contained all the old built up bunkers. We also wandered around a bit and realized this is one of the more "new" cities we have been to.
Tallinn: one of my favorite cities so far. We spent a lot of time hanging out in old town and touring the city walls and towers. We even went to a medieval type restaurant! We also discovered a make your own marzipan creation store which was lots of fun.

The first half of my travels I'll be in Madrid visiting my dad's cousin with my friend who's coming all the way from California to see me. We're also going to Venice together. After this I’ll be in London for 3 days with a friend from both AU and DIS. For New Years I'll be meeting up with my boyfriend to travel to Munich, Dresden and Berlin in Germany and Poznan and Warsaw in Poland.

Alright it’s late and I need to get up around 5am tomorrow to commence my travels. Wish me luck! I promise to try and be better about blogging this time! <3
